"Mom, What's For Dinner?" (The Name Swap Edition)

Do you have picky eaters? You know the kids that are always saying things like "Eewww!", "Gross!", "I don't like that!", "I'm NOT eating!" after hearing what it is that you have cooked for dinner? Mine do it all the time. Well recently whenever I'm fixing something that I know has gotten the above responses, I'll change the name. For instance, tonight we are having Sloppy Joes. While most kids would want to eat anything with "sloppy" in the name...mine don't. So, we've creatively started to call them "Spaghetti Sandwiches". And guess what? The kids love them! Picky eaters? I think not!

Have you ever played name swap when it comes to dinner? I'd love to hear some of your ideas.

  2. Ha. What a good idea! I'll have to remember that when my son goes through that stage. He eats so well now, I really hope it doesn't change.

  3. I love changing names to certain recipes! Like I've made Meatloaf and for some reason my kiddos used to have a hard time with it...so when they were that age, I started calling it- Burger Pie! Same recipe, same shape...but the name change made them want to go for it! ^_^ heehee!

We mom's should get automatic degrees in marketing for the innovative ways we make our kiddos eat, dress or just do chores! LOL
